Hello there! Thank you for visiting my page!
I am a teacher who followed in the footsteps of teachers in my family. I have served as an educator in my home state of New Mexico since 2014, and I am currently an MLSS (Multi-Layered Systems of Support) Resource Teacher for the Albuquerque Public Schools district. During my 10 years as a classroom teacher and reading interventionist, I devoted myself to ensuring that my students knew they were loved and that they loved school. I believe school should be a place of excitement and learning, not one without the other. Through positive teacher-student relationships and by applying best practices I learned in professional development, I gave my students the most engaging, fun, and meaningful learning experiences I could.
I captured and shared my love and passion for teaching in my book, A Place They Love: Creating a Healthy School Culture and Positively Impacting Students, published in 2022 by EduMatch Publishing. I am the host of the retired podcast, The Shut Up and Teach Podcast. On this podcast, I shared more of my learning and teaching experiences and highlighted the voices of educators from across the United States who were guests.
From a very early age, I have been very fond of poetry and song lyrics. I often wrote songs and poems throughout my teen and college years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began to write much more personal and emotional poetry. In 2024, I self-published Stories in My Scars: Poems, with poems written between 2020 and 2024. I continued my self-publishing journey in 2026, releasing Of the Innocent: Poems.
